Flights
resume 2 days after Jill's death
|
Just 2 days after Jill Phipps was crushed to death, and on the first
day of the inquest (at Coventry Magistrates Court) into her death,
live exports resumed from Coventry Airport!
Over
200 protesters descended on the airport when they learnt veal trucks
had arrived. Jill's father Bob and sister Lesley joined over 40
others running onto the airfield in an attempt to stop the plane
taking off.
Later in the afternoon, another plane load of calves was due to
depart when Justin Timson, Jill's partner, chained himself to the
wheels of the aircraft.
Justin, Bob and Lesley were amongst 40 arrested during the days
protests ... the first of over 300 arrests during the campaign.
